EPISODE TRANSCRIPT:

00          You have a decision to make, because every single day there’s going to be doubters, every single day there’s gonna be haters, every single day there’s going to be people out there telling you that you cannot do something. Every single day there are going to be people telling you, you’re not good enough, you’re not smart enough, and you have a decision to make, to not listen to them. And let me tell you something. It takes courage, it takes strength, and it takes the right mindset, and you have to do whatever it takes to implement those things into your life and to make it happen.

33          You are now entering a new paradigm.

33          So, here’s my issue. I wanted to find the answers to life’s biggest questions. Things like, how do I become happy and live with purpose? How do I make more money doing what I love, and what does it mean to be truly successful in all areas of life? My name is Josh Forti, @JoshForti on Instagram, and I ask life’s biggest questions and share the answers with you. My goal is to help you find purpose, happiness, and open your mind to new realms of possibility by helping you think differently about everything you do, know, and understand. On this podcast, we think different, we dream bigger, and we live in a world without limits. This is a new paradigm. Welcome to The Think Different Theory.

13          Listen, your self worth is not determined by somebody else’s opinion. Your success is not determined by someone else, or by your past failures. You are more than the sum of your past mistakes, and your future is determined by nobody else except for you. You see, the world we live in today is going to try to tell you otherwise. The world we live in today is full of complainers. The world we live in today is filled with people that would rather make excuses than take responsibility for their own actions. The world we live in today, would rather sit and complain, and blame someone else than simply go out and create a better life. And, because the world we live in today is lazy, because the world we live in today is so self-focused, because the world we live in today is so entitled and weak, and watered down, and mediocre, anyone that tries to stand up to that, anyone that tries to be different than that, anyone that has a dream that’s bigger than themselves, anyone that has a dream to go out and change the world, to create their own reality, to think different, to live in a world without limits, the rest of the world is going to try to tear down.

39          They’re going to try to tear you down. They’re going to make fun of you. They’re going to go out there and say, “You’re the weird one.” They’re going to go out there and say, “You are never going to make it.” They’re going to go out there and say, “Oh, that’s a scam.” They’re going to go out there and say, “Oh, it’s not possible.” They’re going to go out there and say, “Oh, those people just got lucky.” You’ve gotta be lucky, and if you make it, they’re going to tell you that you got lucky.

01          They’re going to make all sorts of excuses. They’re going to try to drag your name through the dirt. They’re going to be people that say, “Oh, you’ve changed, or that money is a bad thing, or that success isn’t for everyone, and that’s only for those rich entitled snobs.” There are going to be people every single step of the way that sit there and try to bring you down, that make fun of you, that bully you, that tell you that you cannot do it, that you’re not good enough, that you’re not smart enough, that you’re not talented enough, that you don’t have the right connections, that you don’t have the looks, that you don’t have the voice, that you don’t have the knowledge, that you can’t actually help people. You cannot listen to them. Your success is not determined by them, and your life is not lived by them.

47          It is lived by you. You control your destiny, you control your reality, and you know what? It takes courage to stand up to those people. It takes courage to wake up every single day and chase your dreams. It takes courage every single day to go out there and be the odd ball out. It takes courage every single day to go out there and think differently about everything. It takes courage to go out there and be fearless. It takes courage, and it takes strength, to go out there and be a leader. To chase your dreams and never ever give up and never ever quit. It takes strength and commitment, and consistency to go out there and every single time you fail to get back up and keep going, but that is what it takes to be great. That is what it takes to be a leader. That is what it takes to achieve your goals.

33          That is what it takes to be successful. And most people, simply, do not have the courage, do not have the strength, do not have the perseverance, because they let somebody else dictate their life. They let somebody, whether it’s somebody close to them, or somebody that they don’t even know, whether it’s a mom, a dad, a loved one, a brother or sister, your boss, your employer, the person on social media, they let somebody else come in, and control their life. Well, I’m here to tell you today that they do not control your life. You control your life. You control every single action. And when you take responsibility for your life, and when you own every single action, and when you stop complaining, when you stop blaming, when you take responsibility, and say, “No, this is my life and I will choose how I’m going to live it, and I am going to take responsibility for my actions”, that my friends is freedom, that my friends is success.

25          That’s not what the world is going to tell you. They’re going to tell you it’s money. They’re going to tell you that you should just sit down and mind your business, and be in your place. They’re going to tell you that it’s not for you to make those decisions, it’s not for you to tell other people how to live, it’s not for you to go out there and change the education system, it’s not for you to go out there and redefine art, it’s not for you to go out there and change the way that something’s been done for a long time, it’s not you for you to go out there and be different than everybody else. They’re going to tell you to go and to get your job, and to go to school, and to go to college, and to work in a cubicle, and work for somebody else’s dream, and slave away, and party on the weekends, and get drunk, and hopefully save up for retirement, and hopefully someday pay off the debt.

11          And maybe, if you’re lucky, get to take a vacation once a year for a week or two. That’s what they’re going to tell you to do. They’re going to tell you to conform, to watch the BS crap, like it’s put out by our media. To blame the president, to blame politics, to blame the economy, to blame someone else. They’re going to say, “Oh, it’s not your fault. Oh, it’s okay that you failed. Oh, it’s okay that somebody else did yadda, yadda yadda to you.” No, no, it is your responsibility. This is your life. And when you take responsibility for your life, and when you go out there and control your own destiny, and you control your life, that is freedom, and that is when you will live. You are not controlled by somebody else. I don’t care what anybody else tells you, I don’t care what you think about this, you are responsible for your actions, and the day that you go out there and actually take responsibility for your actions, I don’t care if it was somebody else’s fault, I don’t care if somebody else did something to you, when you own your responsibilities, and your actions, and understand that the choices that you have made have got you to the point where you are at in life right now, that is the day that your life will change.

20          And when you continue to do that every single day, you’re going to watch an immense amount of freedom open up, an immense amount of happiness open up, an immense amount of peace open up, an immense amount of fulfillment opens up. You’re going to watch your entire life change before your eyes and continue to get better, and better, and better. Why? Because when you put your life into somebody else’s hands, when you go and you blame somebody else when you go and you give somebody else control over your happiness, and your success, your career, your emotions, whatever that thing is, you are setting yourself up for failure.

55          You then no longer control your life. But, when you don’t do those things, when you do take responsibility for your life, for your actions, for your career, for your success, for your emotions, when you control that, then you cannot be shaken. When you go out there and own it, you can accomplish greatness and let me tell you something, it is not easy. It is going to be one of the hardest things that you’ve ever done. It’s going to go out there, and when you first get started, you’re going to have the weight of the world on your shoulders. You’re going to have so many voices pulling you in every single different direction. You are going to want to quit. Why? Because, your whole entire life, up until this point, you have been told, that how to do things. You’ve been told how to act. You’ve been told what to do, and worst of all, you’ve been told how to think.

44          You haven’t been taught how to think, you’ve been told what to think. And that is messing with you. And that’s going to be so hard to break because your entire life, that’s how you’ve been taught, but when you break from that, it’s going to feel weird at first. You’re going to go out there and be like, “Oh my gosh, why does everybody… like, why is everybody against me? Oh my gosh, can this really be the case? Oh my gosh, have I really been believing this entire thing wrong? Has my entire perception of success, or money, or relationships, or life, been wrong this entire time. Why are so many people getting it wrong? Is this really the case, or am I just completely wacko?” You’re not wacko. You know what you are, you’re awake. When you take responsibility for your actions. When you go out there and think differently, you’re going to recognize that most of the world is asleep.

33          Most of the world is robotic. Most of the world has taken the pill, has drunk the syrup that has put them to sleep, and made them numb, and has taken away their ability to think for themselves, to control responsibility for their own actions. And that is not you. And if that is you, if you want no part of anything that I have just said, then get off this podcast, and stop listening. This podcast is for people that see the world differently, that want to live without limits, that think differently about everything that they do, know, and understand. This podcast is for people that want to change their life, want to change their world, and want to make the world around them better. And that is what you’re here to do today. And so I want to ask you, do you have the courage? Do you have the strength?

28          Do you have the mindset to go out and do what others tell you cannot be done? Do you have the mindset, the courage, and the strength, to stand up to the doubters, to the haters, and to everyone else out there that’s telling you that that you cannot do something, and say, “Yes I can.” Because if you don’t have that, you’re not gonna make it. You need that strength. You need that courage. You need that mindset. And if you don’t have that, I want to give you permission today to go out and get that. I want to beg with you and plead with you today, to go out and get that. Go get the mindset. Go get the strength. Go get the courage. Do absolutely whatever it takes to go get those things. Go get around the right people. Go read the books, go invest in yourself enough, to go and do that, because, without it, you’re not going to make it.

21          One thing that’s absolutely crucial that you must need to understand, and we did a podcast episode about this before, but you have to understand that everything is your fault, and your responsibility. Everything. If you’re filthy rich, that’s your fault. If you’re dead broke, that’s your fault. If you’ve got college debt, that’s your fault. If you’re emotionally broken, that’s your fault. If you don’t have the knowledge, and the wisdom, and the understanding to know how to go out and change your life for the better, that is your fault, and it is your responsibility to go out there and get that information. It is your responsibility to go out there and change your life for the better. It is your responsibility to go out there and take care of the problems that are in your life right now. It is nobody else’s responsibility to take care of your life except for yours.

05          Nobody else is gonna do it. I’m not, somebody else isn’t. You have to. Because it’s squarely on your shoulders. Why? Because I’m dealing with my own problems. And because somebody else is dealing with their own problems, and we’re busy taking responsibility for our own lives. And if you want to go out there and achieve greatness, and if you want to go out there and achieve everything that you’ve ever wanted, if you want to have the beautiful family, or you want monetary success, or you want to travel, or you want to do whatever it is that you define as success, you’ve got to take responsibility for your life, and responsibility for your actions. And you’ve got to accept that where you are at in life right now is 100% due to your doing. And once you accept that, and once you garnish up the strength, and the courage, and the mindset to say, “I take responsibility for my actions”, your life will change forever.

51          So go and do it today, right now. You have a choice. You have a choice to continue down the path that you’ve been going down. You have a choice to blame somebody else. You have a choice to make excuses. You have a choice to turn on Netflix. You have a choice to go and go get drunk this weekend. You have a choice every single day you wake up. You have a choice. A choice to go and do what you’re undisciplined, uncontrolled self would do. You have a choice to go and do what your lazy self would do. The version of yourself that you would not be proud of would do. What the rest of the world is telling you to do. You have a choice, and you can make the choice to go do those things. You can make the choice that’s not going to lead to greatness.

39          You can make the choice to stay in your comfort zone. You can make the choice to not have the courage, to not have the strength, and to not have the mindset to stand up, and to continue, and to never quit. You can make the choice to not do those things, but you also have the choice to go and do each and every one of the things that will take you down a path of success. You have the choice to get up on time. You have the choice to exercise. You have the choice to feed your mind. You have the choice to take responsibility for your actions. You have a choice to go do things right now, every single day, every single hour, every single minute, that will put you on a path for success, that will put you on a path to go out there and achieve greatness, to go out there and change not only your life, but the life of your loved ones, the life of your family, the life of people around you, and the world.

30          You have a choice to go do that every single day. The choice is yours. Which one are you going to choose? You see, I didn’t get to where I am today by choosing to be lazy. Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Joe Rogan, Taylor Swift, you name the person, Russell Brunson, Elon Musk, Mark Cuban. None of them got to where they’re at today, by choosing to be lazy. None of them got to where they’re at today, by being weak, by giving in to what everybody else thought. They got there by doing what other people wouldn’t. Did you know that Kevin Hart, I was watching an interview by him. Kevin Hart prepares for two years for a tour. He goes and he tests, and he tweaks, and he studies, and he prepares, and he does the work for two years, two whole years. Most people wouldn’t last two days, much less two years. We all have a choice.

27          You have a choice. I have a choice. Every one of us has a choice. And so the next time that person tells you that you can’t do something, the next time someone hates on you for chasing your dreams, the next time that your mom, or your dad, or your loved one tells you, “Hey, that’s a bad idea. Hey, that’s stupid. Hey, you’re never gonna make it.” You have a choice. You can give in and you can tell them, “Yep, you’re right. It’s dumb”, and not do it, or you can look at them and say, “You know what? Thank you for your input, but I respectfully disagree with you, and I’m going to go do it anyway, and I’m going to show you that I can achieve whatever it is that I put my mind to.” Now, as I bring this podcast episode to a close, I know it’s been very motivational, inspirational, and a plea for you to go out there and take responsibility for your life.

14          Take personal responsibility for your life. I want to leave you with this. See, most people, they listen to something like this. They get pumped up for a few minutes, maybe an hour, maybe even a day if you’re lucky. And then they go back to the same old, same old. They go back to making weak decisions. They don’t follow through with the strength. Why? Because inspiration is inspiration. It doesn’t last forever. Motivation is motivation. It doesn’t last forever. Do you know what does last? Do you know what is going to make a difference in your life? Do you know what is going to allow these things to go and actually make a lasting difference? Discipline. So I want to implore you right now. I want to beg you right now. I want to ask you right now, to make the decision right now, to further discipline in your life. Do something today, right now, to set yourself up for future success.

04          Look at something and say, “What is one area of my life right now, where I can change a habit?” If you don’t know how to go change a habit, go listen to a couple of podcast episodes ago when we talked about changing habits, and forming new habits, but what is one thing that I can do right now, that is going to put me on a path for success, that’s going to help me have a better mindset, that’s going to help me make a better decision, that’s going to help you have courage, that’s gonna help you have strength? What’s one thing that I can do right now? And let me ask you something. Do you think that if you did that once a day, one time a day (if you can’t do it once a day, do it once a week), if you did it one time a day, I think that would make a difference in your life in the next year?

41          Let’s say one week. If you one thing a week, you change one thing in your life, that would make you a better person, that would help you be more disciplined, that would help you to become stronger, more courageous, and have a better mindset, if you did one thing a week, that’s 52 things over the course of a year, you think your life might change a little bit? So, enough with the inspiration and the motivation, it’s great. That’s what this whole podcast was designed to do, but none of this will work, and this would be a completely wasted podcast episode if you do not execute, and put discipline in your life to go make these things happen. So make a commitment right now, to do something once a week, starting right now in your life that will help you have discipline, that will help you become stronger, more courageous, and have a better mindset that will go out and achieve your goals, and remind yourself every single day, every single hour.

34          If you have to say it out loud every single time you make a decision then say it, “I have a decision. I control my actions, I control my life.” Do whatever it takes to remind yourself of that. Guys, that’s what I’ve got for you today, and I hope it helped. I’d love to know your thoughts on this in the DM. Hit me @Josh 40 on Instagram. As always, hustle, hustle, God bless. Do not be afraid to think different. Do not be afraid to be courageous. Do not be afraid to have strength. Do not be afraid to have a mindset that nobody else has. Do not be afraid to go out there and do what nobody else is doing, so that you could achieve what nobody else can, because those of us that do that are truly the ones that change the world, and that create our own reality. I love you all, and I will see you on the next episode. Take it easy fam. Peace.

27          Yo, what’s up guys? You’ve been listening to The Think Different Theory with myself, Josh Forti, which I like to call, “A new paradigm of thinking”, and real quick, I got a question for you. Did you like this episode? If you did, I want to ask a huge favor. See, the biggest thing that helps this podcast grow, and that will spread this message of positivity and making the world a better place, is if you leave a review, a rating and subscribe to the podcast. What that does is, it basically tells the platforms that this is out on, that you like my stuff, and that I’m doing something right. So if you could take like three seconds out of your day and subscribe, leave a rating, and a review, I would be forever grateful for you. Also, I want to hear from you. I want to know your feedback, your ideas, and your questions for future episodes. So be sure to hit me up on Instagram in the DM @JoshForti or via email contact@ThinkDifferentTheory.com.
